What are your business hours and shooting days?Business/office hours are 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays. Closed on Sundays. Shooting days are Monday through Sunday by session bookings.
-
How long does a photo session last?Sessions vary in length depending on the type of session. Family, Maternity and other Portrait Sessions typically last 1 – 1 ½ hours. Newborn Sessions last a minimum of 2 hours and up to 4 hours. Mini Sessions last 15 – 20 minutes.
-
How do Mini Sessions differ from a Full Session? Our Mini Sessions are just what they sound like, a “mini” version of our full portrait sessions. They are done at predetermined locations at a lower price point and involve less shoot time. The idea is to give you a sample of what it’s like to work with me and see what I do. Mini Sessions are a great way to get images for your Holiday cards and update your family portraits. Because of the nature of mini sessions, they cannot be lifestyle but rest assured I will guide you and your loved ones into easy poses that look natural and authentic.
-
Can we do outfit changes with a Mini Session?Because Mini Sessions are limited to 15 - 20 minutes there isn't time for outfit changes. It would mean less shooting time, which means less images per session. I recommend wearing layers such as a cardigan, vest, jacket or scarf that you can quickly put on or remove if you want to switch things up a bit. A fuill session is recommended for outfit changes.
-
How many images are included with a Mini Session?Mini Sessions include 5 fully edited, high-resolution digital images @ 300 dpi, printable up to 8x10. Additional digitals and prints are availablle to purchase a la carte. Additional retouching and edit requests can be added for an additional fee.
-
How many proofs are included with a Mini Session?Typically, your Mini Session proof gallery will contain at least 25 images from which to choose your final images. Of course, you will always have the option to purchase the entire gallery.
-
When will we receive our photos?Photos from regular sessions will be delivered no later than 45 days from your session date. Photos from Mini Sessions will be delivered usually within 2 weeks.
-
Will we receive all the photos you shot? The short answer is no. The long answer is that I carefully look through every image taken during your photo session, removing duplicates, images where eyes are closed, etc. After these are removed, the rest get edited and delivered to your proof gallery.
-
How many photos do we receive? You’ll receive the number of images per the package you purchased. The number of proofs from which to choose your images typically ranges between 25 - 100 photos per hour of coverage booked. Every session is unique with its own circumstances so the number of photos taken will vary.
-
How will we receive our photos?Through a private online gallery in a two-step process. Once you login, first you’ll be able to view all the photos in your proof gallery. Once you choose the photos to be included in your package and/or extra items you wish to purchase, you'll receive a link to a separate online album where you can download all the high-resolution JPG digital files you purchased. You will have access to your proof gallery for a limited time.
-
Can we order prints, photo books, wall art and other products through you?Absolutely! You’ll be able to order prints and other products directly through your final edited online gallery. I also offer other products such as Grab and Go Galleries, framed prints, and specialty gift items through my website. Note: For prints and print products, I strongly encourage you to order through my professional print lab as this will help insure color consistency with the special process I apply to each image. While printing at other labs may be just fine, I can only guarantee prints and products ordered through the professtional labs I use since I calibrate all of my image settings to their printers.
-
What should we wear?So glad you asked! Here is my Style Guide to get you started.
-
Do you recommend wearing make-up?Yes, absolutely. Even if you normally do not wear make-up, wearing it for the photo session is highly encouraged. Wearing properly applied makeup ensures more even skin tones and proper distribution of light across the face. It helps deflect light from areas that normally absorb light such as lines, creases and wrinkles thereby minimizing the appearance of them.
-
Do you recommend having hair and make-up professionally done?Short answer: No ... BUT, your hair and make-up will impact the look of your final images so it’s definitely something worth considering. So, if you aren’t a wiz with hair and make-up and you have the budget for it, absolutely go for it!
-
Can we incorporate props in our session?Absolutely! I love it when clients want to incorporate something meaningful, special or unique to them. Props can add even more visual interest.
-
Can our pet be photographed with us?Yes! But please know that YOU are totally responsible for your pet, its behavior, its safety, and the safety of others with whom it comes into contact during the session.

-
Do I have to sign the contract/model release to book a session?Yes, all clients are required to sign the contract/model release before a session. If you have any questions about the contract/model release, I am happy to address them before booking your session.
-
Do I own the copyright to the photos you took?As the photographer I retain the copyright to all images taken by me or any associates hired by me. My clients get personal use rights to print and share their digital images with their family and friends as well as share on their own personal website or social media as much as they'd like, however, no rights are granted for commercial use or any other purpose without my written permission. I'd love a linkback or photo credit but it's not compulsory.
